Tasting Notes: Low-yielding old vines produce a dry wine with lovely aromas of peach and excellent acidity. Delicate elderflower flavours with ripe pear lead to a crisp limey palate. During winemaking, the wine is left on the lees to give it greater complexity and a fuller-body.

Region: Pfalz, Germany

Varieties: 100% Riesling
ABV: 13%
Closure: Screwtop

Vegan.

Pairing: Great with smoked or grilled fish, salads and chicken dishes.

More Info: The Ruppertsberg Cooperative is one of the most dynamic in Germany. In the 1980s the growers completely rebuilt their wine cellars and have continuously invested in new equipment. Winemaking in the Mittlehaart goes back to Roman times where they originally planted vines because it is one of the warmest winegrowing regions in Germany. The loam and sandstone soils from around Ruppertsberg and up to just above Bad Durkheim are some of the best in the Rhine valley. Great emphasis is put on individual vineyards using cover crops rather than herbicides and harvesting at optimal ripeness in each plot.
