More Info: Can Axartel estate is near the Northern coast of Mallorca at the foothills of Tramuntana Mountain and near lots of forests. This creates a unique microclimate for the vinyeard, with cooling influences from the mountain as well as shelter from the forests.

Mallorca was actually famous for its wines during the Roman Empire but is no longer considered a "popular" wine growing region, even though quality wines continue to be produced. The focus now is on growing quality native grape varieties and blending with international grape varieties.

Thanks to the interesting topography of the region, coastal regions, hills, mountains, forests and different soil types, the wines produced are complex and vary greatly from their neighbours

The "Metodo Gravetat" = gravity method. Most winemaking techniques involve using pumps to push the grape must and juice from one stage to the next in the process. At the Can Axartell estate, the process is undertaken over several floors, allowing the juices to travel naturally by gravity to retain the delicate flavours that would otherwise be lost in the constant friction of pumping.
